Art Therapist, Artist, Group Leader

I chose art therapy because of my experiences with using art as my own form of therapy and the power it can hold.

I graduated from Georgia College and State University with my master’s in art therapy and received my bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Studio Art from the University of West Georgia. I found my passion for art and psychology during my undergrad experience.

Education & Certifications

  • BA – Psychology with a minor in Studio Art
  • MA – Arts Therapy

My Approach

I believe that art therapy can bring out thoughts and feelings that we might unconsciously hold onto with art in therapy. There is also a space for art as therapy where we can use art materials to cope with our daily stressors and events.

I also have been a calligraphy artist for 8 years and I believe that the physical and mindful aspects of creating calligraphy can be therapeutic. I believe it can help with self-esteem, confidence, relieving stress and act as a mindful art. I am currently applying for my ATR-P and will be under the supervision of Nancy Morales, ATR BC.
