Event Series: Visual Journaling

Visual Journaling is a way of having a dialogue with yourself using images and words. It’s open to anyone, regardless of art experience. We’ll begin by making the journal itself as a creative, upcycling practice. Each session includes a prompt and a process for exploring your response in meditative ways, such as collage, stamping, or simple mark-making with line, color, and shape. What you create goes home with you, offering a tangible reminder of this practice and a way to continue it beyond class. Attending more than once offers opportunities to try new ways of making journals and to explore different prompts.

Artist & art therapist Ann Marie will guide you through a new visual journaling skill and prompt each week.

This week: MAKE – Create a unique journal from upcycled materials and learn a pamphlet stitch to bind its pages. Ann Marie will provide materials, ideas, and guidance. Leave with your new journal and prompts for reflection through words and images. No bookbinding or art experience needed.

Offered on the first and third Monday of the month
